I started doing my own nails in 2019, when I started out I wasn’t great at it but continued on. Now I wouldn’t say I’m perfect at it however I’m much better. Doing my nails have become very calming for me and helps me destress. In 2020, I did several Christmas Nail looks that encompassed nail art. 2020 was the year I really started challenging myself by doing nail art and trying new things with my nails.
To keep up with my nail looks follow @thesamanthajohnson and #TSJnails for all my nail looks.
Let’s take a look.
My first Christmas nail look is definitely one of my favourites. I used regular polish and polished from Dazzle Dry Jamaica. The nail polishes definitely have a learning curve to them! I really loved this look especially my left hand.
My second Christmas nail look was a good try. Looking back at it now it was definitely too busy and the clean up wasn’t great. On the right hand I would have feathered the glitter instead of plopping it on like I did hahaha. I’m still in love with the idea of snowflakes and candy cane nails, I’m hoping my skills have improved because I want to the nail art again!
I contemplated whether or not to post this one. It was a good idea but the execution? Not great. The line tree I tried to make just ended up looking like POOP. You don’t have to tell me, I know you see it too!
I posted this only two days after my poopy- I mean Christmas tree nails which showed you how little of a fan I was. I really like these nails. Gift wrapping nails with a bow is so cute to me! I wish I had kept the theme for my right hands- but at that time my left hand could only do so much and no more as I am in fact right handed.
After all the busy designs I did I a really simple glitter nude nail look with sweater nails. I still haven’t gotten the hand of sweater nails but I think they are absolutely gorgeous!
My last nail look definitely was a challenge and I went all out- sometimes less is more and I got excited to try everything for the sake of Christmas. I’m still super proud of my grinch, to date it has been the most ambitious thing I’ve drawn on my nails- to this day I still can’t believe I did it!
I posted this video December 25, 2020. I was so proud of my nail art on both my feet and nails. I don’t think this video is available on YouTube anymore but it is on IG.
I hope you liked my Christmas Nail Art and are inspired by them to try your own at home or have them replicated by your nail tech!
Merry Christmas!
Samantha
