Yesterday I got my Pfizer booster and I haven’t been able to write because of the side effects. Now I think it’s important to talk about the vaccine side effects so that people can know what to expect.
For me, I rather endure the few hours to days of the vaccine side effects than take my chances with Covid 19.
I initially got vaccinated with Astra Zeneca over six months ago and decided to get Pfizer as my booster shot. When I got my first dose of Astra Zeneca the side effects I had were fever, muscle pain and pain and swelling at the injection site. For my second dose I had some light headedness and that was it.
Other persons I know who got Pfizer warned me and told me to prepare for the side effects. Well I was still super unprepared! I also completely forgot to take Panadol.
I got the vaccine at about 1pm on Tuesday 21, 2021 and started having pain at the site for the rest of the day. When I went to bed I was still more or less okay… until I wasn’t. I’m not sure what time it was, but I woke up with a high fever and chills and a lot of muscle pain and a bad headache. I had this all day to the point where I couldn’t get out of bed.
Eventually, at around 3 or 4 pm my mom came home and saw that I was a mess and gave me food and some pain tablets. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be able to even be writing this! The headache is still there but the fever finally broke and the muscle pain has improved. This was definitely the worst side effects I’ve had from any vaccine.
However, believe it or not, I know persons who took Pfizer booster and had no side effects! Similarly for Astra Zeneca. Panadol is important when beating the side effects but even when I took my first dose of Astra Zeneca I was taking my Panadol and still had the side effects.
This post isn’t meant to scare anyone at all. I believe in the importance of being vaccinated against covid 19 to help us fend against this pandemic. Please please please go get vaccinated.
Merry Christmas!
Samantha
